WHITEY'S Whispers took a break this week to celebrate the return of Craig White to the South Fremantle league side in Saturday's win over Perth so we took the chance to look back on the first 11 episodes this season of the show that has taken the WAFL world by storm in 2015.

The dual premiership veteran has been the host of 11 episodes now of his popular weekly program out of Fremantle Oval.

It all started back in Round 1 when Shaun Bewick looked ahead to taking on his former team to start the season before Haiden Schloithe then took the chance to hit back on that controversial first show heading into the Round 2 win over Perth.

Round 3 then saw the most thoughtful and innovative episode yet when big man Brock Higgins spilled the beans on some ideas he believes could change the world.

SOUTH Fremantle is looking for a third straight win and to move into second spot on the WAFL ladder taking on the on-fire league-leading reigning premiers Subiaco at Medibank Stadium on Saturday.

The Bulldogs' clash with the Lions is the standalone WAFL fixture on Saturday afternoon and it presents a big opportunity for South Fremantle to send a message to the rest of the competition that it is the real deal this season.

South Fremantle is now on a two-game winning streak and could make it three on Saturday which would see the Bulldogs move into second spot on the ladder and to end the Lions' six-game winning streak, but it's certainly not going to be an easy task.

SOUTH Fremantle might not have had a lot of injuries in 2015 in terms of numbers, but they have come to key players and that has opened up opportunities for others with a host of players stepping up including Josh Pullman and Steven Verrier in Saturday's win over Perth.

The Bulldogs might have only had four players missing out of what might be considered their best 22 in last Saturday's clash with the Demons at Fremantle Oval, but all of them are important players and needed others to stand up in their absence.

Full-forward and two-time Bernie Naylor Medal winner Ben Saunders made his return from an ankle injury in the reserves on Saturday, but after kicking two early goals he injured a hamstring and now will be sidelined again for several more weeks.

SOUTH Fremantle showed that backing up Monday's derby win was no concern on a short break with the Bulldogs booting seven goals to one in a scintillating final quarter to beat Perth by 38 points at Fremantle Oval on Saturday.

The Bulldogs put in a terrific performance on Monday to win the WA Day Foundation Derby over East Fremantle, but backing up five days later against a Perth outfit with a seven-day break was never going to be an easy task.

And it was a tight contest for three quarters with South Fremantle only leading by one straight kick at three quarter-time, but the Bulldogs then ran rampant in the fourth quarter with seven goals to one to end up winning 17.10 (112) to 11.8 (74).

SOUTH Fremantle scored a tremendous win on Monday in the WA Day Foundation Derby but now are looking to back it up just five days later at Fremantle Oval against Perth on Saturday.

While that was a tremendous win for the Bulldogs and saw them improve to a 5-4 record to maintain a position inside the top-five, there is sure to still be some sore bodies as a result of it heading into this Saturday's clash with Perth at Fremantle Oval.

Perth can also take some confidence out of having beaten South Fremantle on its last trip to Fremantle Oval, but that was way back in Round 2 last year in what was Kris Miller's 300th WAFL game.

That might be good memories for those Perth players who played, but at most there will be just six players from that team still in the line-up this Saturday.

EITHER side of a storied AFL career at North Melbourne and Fremantle, Peter Bell began and finished playing top level football with South Fremantle and will always be one of the Bulldogs finest ever products.

Bell began his WAFL career with South Fremantle in 1994 and impressed so much as a small rover that he became the first player signed by the Fremantle Dockers.

Things didn’t quite work out there in his first stint, but it certainly did at North Melbourne and then upon return to Fremantle, and then following his remarkable AFL career, Bell finished up playing with a season back in the WAFL with the Bulldogs in 2009.

Along the way, Bell represented Western Australia for a third time and captained a remarkable drought breaking State game victory over South Australia before then going out in style by playing a starring role in South Fremantle's grand final win over Subiaco to claim the 2009 WAFL premiership.

And now having already been inducted into WA Football's Hall of Fame, Bell joins Stephen Michael, John Todd, Steve Marsh, Peter Matera and Glen Jakovich as South Fremantle greats in the Australian Football Hall of Fame.

THAT WA Day Foundation Derby on the weekend was one of the best games I have been a part of in my career.

Despite it only being my second year at South Fremantle, you quickly accumulate and share the meaning the rivalry has to players, coaches, support staff and fans, and then during the media build-up you certainly understand how much it means and that it is a special occasion to be part of.

The far-reaching interest in a game like the Fremantle Derby takes you by surprise too – I’ve had friends and family contacting me from Melbourne and Queensland before and after the day with their support.
