Schloithe primed for 2020 as 150 approaches

Wednesday, March 11, 2020 - 11:32 PM - by Chris Pike

LIFE membership beckons Haiden Schloithe at the start of the 2020 WAFL season but the South Fremantle superstar is just focused on reclaiming what he feels is his best football while being excited by some new arrivals at the Bulldogs.

Reclaiming his best form might be only a matter of opinion too. There's certainly nothing wrong with the football that Schloithe has played the last two seasons.

He has remained among the very best and most damaging, dangerous and efficient players in the competition, but by the own lofty standards he sets himself, he hasn’t quite recaptured the form of 2017 where he won both the Sandover and WJ Hughes Medals.

Both Squads Training Arm in Arm

Tuesday, March 10, 2020 - 1:41 PM

ON Saturday March 7, both South Fremantle Football Club's Women's and Men's squads linked up for the first-ever joint WAFL training session in the club's 120-year history.

The historical occasion had been in development since the women’s program officially joined South Fremantle Football Club in 2019 and it was great to see it come together. This official merger has brought a new aspect to our club culture that is exciting and vibrant, a huge success.

It was great to see players, coaches, board members, and executives all down at the club on Saturday to mark the moment. The theme of the morning was ‘Family’ and the Bulldogs family really came together on this one.  Read More [+]

FRESH BULLDOGS READY TO FIRE

Thursday, February 20, 2020 - 9:29 AM - by Chris Pike

PREPARATIONS are now ramping up for South Fremantle's crack at going one better in the 2020 WAFL season and after freshening up the playing group over summer, coach Todd Curley is looking forward to what the new campaign holds.

With three preliminary finals and a Grand Final appearance over the past four years on top of an impressive 57-19 win-loss record during the home and away season, you'd suggest Curley and the Bulldogs are doing plenty right so there's little reason for too much change.

But there's always a natural turnover in any playing group including the departure of 347 games of WAFL experience in the form of retiring trio Shaun Bewick (154 games overall, 124 with South Fremantle), Adam McIntosh (116) and Brendan Verier (77).
